This is our second year offering coffee from the Vides family, and we’re excited to continue building this relationship. Their farm, Finca La Bolsa, is one of the oldest coffee farms in Guatemala and is known for producing high-quality coffee while supporting the surrounding community.
We had the chance to visit the farm in Huehuetenango this spring and spent several days seeing the work up close. From hand-picking ripe cherrieson steep hillsides to careful fermentation and drying, it’s clear how much effort and experience goes into every step. Coffee farming is hard work, and the Vides family and their team approach it with care and consistency.

The farm itself is tucked into a canyon filled with shade trees, fresh spring water, and a ton of plant and animal life. While we were there, we spotted multiple butterfly species and birds moving through the rows of coffee trees. The biodiversity on the farm isn’t just nice to look at, it’s part of what makes the coffee thrive.
Finca La Bolsa has been run by the Vides family since 1958. Over the years, they’ve done more than grow great coffee. They’ve helped build schools, provided classroom supplies, and supported nearby farms with tools and training. That kind of leadership and generosity is a big part of why we’re proud to work with them.
This year’s lot is tasting great. It’s a classic Huehuetenango profile with notes of chocolate syrup, caramel, and almond. It’s smooth, sweet, and approachable, exactly the kind of coffee we love to share.
